About Me
I've been writing for over 15 years. My work has appeared in various publications, including Lake Superior Magazine, Duluth, MN; The Daily Press and Lake Superior Sounder, Ashland, WI and Volume One, Eau Claire, WI. I am the recipient of the 2009 Bronze Award for Culture Feature from the International Regional Magazine Association, and the 2006 Media Support of the Year Award from Wisconsin Special Olympics for my series of athlete profiles. Currently I serve as Eau Claire County Field Editor for Our Wisconsin magazine. My novel, 'The Sweet Charm of Distance' was released November 17, 2015 by Untreed Reads, San Francisco.
Can a writer have a mission statement...?
I write, whatever I write, for women with brains and men with feelings; for Democrats who own guns, Republicans who care about the environment, anyone who spends even a little time resisting labels, breaking stereotypes, defying expectations. For those who don't take themselves too seriously, but wouldn't dream of letting themselves go, or settling for what might seem 'good enough'. For those who believe everything is a miracle, but don't look for a message in everything that happens.
Sometimes there is no message, only the sound of the sun shining.
